Videosniffing is the act of intercepting wireless CCTV images. Footage was acquired on foot and via car from unsecured wireless cameras in Canary Wharf, the City of London and Central London; additionally footage was acquired from unsecured network cameras via the web. This was one of the starting points for Intercept.
The concept is now now more common and often referred to warspying or warviewing and some projects have adopted this process or taken advantage of data protection legislation to legally acquire footage.
